Kandersteg International Scout Centre is the realisation of a dream Baden-Powell had of a
Permanent Mini-Jamboree where Scouts from all over the world could meet all year round!
Kandersteg opened in 1923 and now welcomes over 11,000 guests every year from over 45 different
countries. The Centre is run by a volunteer Staff Team (the Pinkies) – some of them are only
here for 3 months, others for years.
Kantersteg International Scout Centre is located at the foot of the Alps in Switzerland, just outside a small mountain village called Kandersteg.
It is approximately one hour from Bern, or 65km.
