Beaver Scouts are the first and youngest section of the Scout Movement. Beavers are aged from 6 to 8 years old and are open for both male and female children.
There are several scout groups within the Malling District which have Beaver Scout Colonies. Visit our Groups and Units page to find out which!
The Beaver Scouts have an exciting, varied and interesting programme which is a combination of learning, having fun and exploring through organised activities. Some Beaver Scout Colonies also organise Sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often Scout centres.
To find your nearest Beaver Colony, use our Contact Us form on this website, and simply by giving us your address details, we will get back to you with the relevant details of the local Beaver Colony.
Most Beaver Colonies will be glad to let you stay for a night or two to see if you like it. If you enjoy it, you can find out how to become a full member from the Beaver Scout Leaders at your chosen Beaver Colony. Some Beaver Colonies operate a waiting list, so it is advised to ask if your chosen colony about the availability of spaces.
