Explorer Scouts are the fourth youth section of the Scout Movement, but are the first section directly associated to the Scout District, rather than a Scout Group. Explorer Scouts are aged from 14 to 18 years old, and are open to male and female children.
There are 5 explorer Scout Units within the Malling District, located at Aylesford, Borough Green, Larkfield and Snodland. To find your nearest one, visit our Groups and Units page.
Explorer Scouts have an exciting, varied and interesting programme which is a combination of learning, having fun and exploring through organised activities. Explorer Scouts will get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in their District. By doing this, you will get the chance to do many more adventurous activities. An important part of the Explorer Scout programme is the expeditions that Explorer Scouts need to complete to achieve their Chief Scout Awards. Explorer Scouts are the section which have the opportunity every 4 years to apply to go to the World Scout Jamboree.
To find your nearest Explorer Scout Unit, use our Contact Us form, and simply by giving us your address details, we will get back to you with the relevant details of the local Explorer Scout Unit. It is important to note, as an Explorer Scout, you are able to attend more than one of the Explorer Scout Units if you wish to do so, and it is not required that you attend your nearest one if you wish to go to another one.
