Our proposed programme is as outlined below, although as the trip is quite some time away it is subject to change.
Swiss National Day!
Every year on the 1st of August, people across Switzerland celebrate the country's National Day with parades, bonfires and fireworks. Also on the same day, in the year 1907, several boys came together with Robert Baden-Powell to begin the world's first scout camp on Brownsea Island in England.
At Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC), they celebrate both of these events on August 1st! Guests and staff from around the world come together for a really special day, full of international fun, friendship and adventures!
The whole day will give all of our Scouts and Explorers from Malling, the opportunity to feel the atmosphere of international friendship unique to KISC, and to feel the realisation of Baden-Powel's dream of a permanent mini jamboree.
