Tents, Campfire and Cake

As the sun sets on a dry evening at Lower Grange Farm, tents went up, and the Kandersteg ’24 Contingent came together for the first time since October 2023.
Scouts and Explorers have made new friends, meeting their tent buddies and spending the evening getting to know their neighbours and young people from all over the District.
It’s the end of the day, and the campfire is burning. From songs about Johnny jumping out an aeroplane, to the campfire classic, kumbaya there was something for everyone around the campfire. We finished up with the well known campfire classic ‘happy birthday’, celebrating Rose’s birthday, with cake for everyone!
Tomorrow brings more friends, and more activity, getting into our patrols, and rotating round activities. Scouts and Explorers are dusting off their hiking boots, ready for a short hike (the same distance we’ll be walking to the train station when in Kandersteg!).
