Our venue

Quest 9 will be at Downe Activity Centre, a site steeped with Scouts history. Used by Scouts since 1929, Downe Activity Centre has undergone massive redevelopment since the Friends of Downe bought the site in 2024, and we're super excited to bring Quest 9 to the site.

Downe Activity Centre offers great indoor and outdoor space (including accomodation for those who need it), a wide range of activities for all ages, and the potential we need to make Quest 9 out of this world.

Getting to Downe

Downe Activity Centre is in Downe, near Biggin Hill/Orpington. It takes between 20-40 minutes to get there, depending on where you are in Malling.

Organised travel

We're exploring providing organised travel from a location in Malling, to Downe on Friday and back on Monday. This will be an optional add-on which parents/carers can opt into for a small fee. We're discussing exactly how this will work with Groups, and will share more information soon.

Getting in and out

Like many Scout campsites, Downe Activity Centre is at the end of a small road called Birdhouse Lane, so we're working with the team at Downe Activity Centre to plan our arrivals and departures from the site. They have many years' experience managing traffic on Birdhouse Lane, have good relationships with their neighbours, and will be on the ground to help us manage traffic in and out.

We'll be sharing more information about access to Downe Activity Centre nearer to the event, in our participant, family and volunteer information packs.
