William Warriors ESU day on the River Medway
21st July 2013
An overcast day, slight drizzle, 18C and a north Easterly wind to battle, was not the most encouraging start to William Warriors ESU day on the River Medway. But we took out hand built canoe, “the Bacon Roll” out for its maiden voyage up the River Medway from Upnor.
It was accompanied with a flotilla of canoes with the remainder of the explorer group.
The “Bacon Roll” made it up the river and back again to our delight. The mark II design oars also survived.
We would like to thank Bob and Dave for their time and woodworking skills in helping making this canoe.
