Fund Raising for Demelza Children's Hospice
30th January 2014
Mark Stamford, Explorer Leader of Cantia ESU, is cycling from Sittingbourne to Paris from 30 April in aid of Demelza House Chidren's Hospice which is a very special cause for Mark and his family.
Mark’s nephew, Joshua was born with a rare, uncurable and life limiting condition and at just a few months old spent many weeks in Evelina Childrens Hospital in London. However when they realised that nothing more could be done to help Joshua they went to Demelza where the family were able to be together with Joshua for what was the last day of his life.
Mark says "From the moment we arrived at Demelza, we were made so welcome, and so at home. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. They really cared and this was obvious from the start. Their support immediately after Joshua passed away was superb. Our families were able to stay together whilst the funeral was arranged. We were totally looked after not to mention the free flowing tea, coffee and food. Even now they are continuing to support all of us in remembrance events and personal support for Lee and Vicky."
Please support Mark if you can with this really worthwhile event. Go to his Just Giving page where you can donate on line and read more of Joshua's story. http://www.justgiving.com/MARK-STAMFORD
