Cub Scouts are the second youth section within the Scout Movement. Cub Scouts are aged from 8 to 10½ years old and are open to both male and female children.
All of the Scout Groups within the Malling District offer Cub Scouting. To find your nearest one, visit our Groups and Units page.
Originally based on the theme of Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book, the Cub Scouts have an exciting, varied and interesting programme which is a combination of learning, having fun and exploring through organised activities. It is participating in a balanced programme which enables the Cub Scouts to experience Scouting. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your pack. This will mean sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities
To find your nearest Cub Pack, use our Contact Us form, and simply by giving us your address details, we will get back to you with the relevant details of the local Cub Pack. Most Cub Packs will be glad to let you stay for a night or two to see if you like it. If you enjoy it, you can find out how to become a full member from the Cub Scout Leaders at your chosen Cub Pack. Some Cub Packs have waiting lists, and therefore it is advised to check with your chosen Cub Pack.
