Explorers are the fourth youth section of the Scout Movement, but are the first section directly associated to the Scout District, rather than a Scout Group. Explorers are aged from 14 to 18 years old, and are open to male and female children.
There are 5 Explorer Units in Malling. To find your nearest one, visit our Groups and Units page.
Explorers have an exciting, varied and interesting programme which is a combination of learning, having fun and exploring through organised activities. Explorers get the chance to work with other Explorers in the District. By doing this, you will get the chance to do many more adventurous activities. An important part of the Explorer programme is the expeditions that Explorers can complete to achieve their Chief Scout Awards. Explorers are also the section who have the opportunity every 4 years to apply to go to the World Scout Jamboree.
To find your nearest Explorer Unit, use our Contact Us form, and simply by giving us your address details, we will get back to you with the relevant details of the local Explorer Unit. It is important to note, as an Explorer, you are able to attend more than one of the Explorer Units if you wish to do so, and it is not required that you attend your nearest one if you wish to go to another one.
